The Becoming

BecomingBeloved Blog copy

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”

1 John 3:1 NIV

Becoming Beloved is a journey of learning how to live loved by God.

You are a child of God.

You are His daughter the moment you receive that work of Jesus on the cross. The moment you release to Him your sins and receive from Him divine forgiveness. It is a moment of faith followed by a life of learning how to be loved by God.

You are a child of God.

You are not trying to be a child of God.

You are not becoming a child of God.

You are a child of God.

YOU ARE LOVED.

Many of you are trying to become a child of God, trying to be good enough to deserve God’s love but you can’t earn His love… only receive it more and more.

The first time I caught my oldest son in a lie and confronted him about it, he cried, ” I don’t deserve to be your son”.

I looked him in his eyes and said to him, “You are my son whether you feel like you deserve it or not. You are my son. You came from me. You are mine. I also love you so much that you don’t need to lie and are not created to lie.  I see you, I love you, you are mine”.

You are a child of God whether you feel like you deserve it or not. You are His daughter. You came from Him and Jesus took everything on the cross that separated you from Him.   He sees you, He loves, you are His.

Becoming Beloved is learning what it means to live as a child of God (not a servant, or a slave but a beloved child).

This becoming is the journey of taking one step at a time and learning to let God love you right where you are.

In the coming weeks, you will be receiving posts from women who are learning to live loved in the life stage they are in and are going to let us see what it looks like.

My prayer for you today is that you find yourself here.

You are His beloved.

  1. This post came on a day when I am really struggling. I have gone back to school, at 53, and I also help my mom-by-choice. She recently had a health scare, thank GOD everything turned out well for her. There are days when I really struggle to keep it all together, and I wonder if I am liked, never mind loved. But, I know God loves me. Not because anyone told me that. I just do!! I hope you have a blessed day, I am so sorry that I missed the ladies night.
